I'm running out the door!

Here's my final "Universe" assignment. I really gotta go. Some of these are a little rough. OKAY

IN[too]DEE[p] 500: The first of many!

Today, Don suggested that while I have an acceptable understanding of line, I'd do well to work on my value. So he said draw faces/heads/hands with value shapes ONLY. But to fill up a ream of copy paper. I think I need to speed up because it took me quite a while to do these ones. But here's the first batch:

And I drew this stuff today on the bus. I drew a foot.

BONUS: KEWL or, "CkuWhal"

This is cool! Cool stuff happened today after I posted!
It's cool!

If I had to redraw this, I would fix the legs, add feet, and make it easy for the viewer to discern whether or not he's wearing pants

The weird alien creature enjoys his garden, while two strange people with similar faces wait under the boughs.

And then some other things. I was trying to draw the same thing from two different directions.

I was going to post yesterday, but...

The stuff I had drawn was very stupid. So I'll just post what I'm working on right now:
The theme is "Universe," right? Here's what I've got so far, after my thumbs:

Some guys (I keep running out of room for their feet!):

Another Chaotic Week: Summer Goals Recap Week the Third (3rd)

Afternoon.

This was a good week for me goal-wise. I read more of Steven King's book on writing and wrote a bunch of stuff about an Idea (with a capital I) that I've had in my brain for years. Wrote some plot, history, lore, all that good stuff.
I also did some watercolor stuff this week, although I wasn't quite happy with the result. Argh.
Anyway, always room for improvement.

Today, my sister said, "You should draw Odin." So here you go. He has a long coat on, it looks like. You can also see the lines where I was trying to figure out how his hat works.

Mullet. No smoking

Quick Saturday update

Tried some foreshortening from my mind today based on what I learned yesterday. Could have been worse, I think?

Friday, May 23, 2014

Today was Friday. It is Friday.

Thumbs for the next homework assignment. Theme is "Universe." I'm gonna try not to do the first thing that comes to mind. I wanna be cool

Perspective + Figure = Foreshorten, and it's miserable. These next two I try to puzzle it out from my head. Mixed results ensue.

That central guy with the knife? I really want his left (our right) arm moved out to the right just a bit, it's pulled in too far and makes me ill. His right arm (our left) is all messed up as well, although the hand turned out fine.

Frustrated by my failure, I do some figure drawing (courtesy of Pixelovely for models). Why are there no feet drawn? Bad space management, really. I wasn't running away, just didn't budget out my real estate all that well.
