Sickly! (SUMMER '15 #12)

Hey! For those who don't live here and look at every post a million times (everyone who's not me, in other words) I've done a lot of posts lately. You should scroll down and have a look!

Well, I followed through! I kinda sorta finished a thingy. Or at least brought it to a more finished state. Observe (cloak pattern by Kaitlin):

A girl from reference I found somewhere. The internet. This was hard! I spent probably two hours on her mouth and eyes. I don't want to talk about it! Time to move on!

Couple things- All these studies I've been doing of people's faces have nasty, sickly quality to them. I know I should be putting warms in the cools or cools in the warms or using complementary colors and junk but still the mystery evades me. I'm working on it!

And the other thing is that I lost a precious, precious follower! What a fiend they were! I went from 30 to 29. I don't know how the Google+ followers factor into this. Thanks for stopping by, though. Okaybye

I Should Be Working On Other Things

Hi.

One of my New Year's Resolutions is to have a solid group of work I can use as a portfolio, including both 2D and 3D stuff. That's all well and good, but I need to actually finish something to make it happen. So I should be working on other things. I just drew some sketches today and thought I'd share with you. I may have to start a rule for myself where I can't post UNLESS I also have a finished piece to show. I hope it doesn't come to that! But that's actually a good rule. Maybe that's how it's gonna be? It's not like I shouldn't be finishing something every week. URGH.

Okay, I need to go draw/paint now.

Up first is some stuff for my head rendering class. I was glad they actually looked Asian. Success.

Next I have some jumping guys.

(This next one has some tangents but I was too lazy to fix it in Photoshop. I mean, just look at where his hand hits his foot! Jeepers)

Then I have some floating people.

Harry Potter fan art? I never thought I'd see the day! SHEESH. A Voldemort!

Then the rest of the stuff. Whatever.

BONUS

Today I was gonna print out an assignment that's due for class tomorrow, so I went to this local printy place. While I was waiting my antiquated phone called 911 of its own accord. It does this all the time. I normally catch it before it has a chance to connect, but today I was too slow. I hung up, and promptly received a call back from a worried lady trying to see if I was all right. I was like, "Yeah, my phone is dumb sry sry sry".

It was embarrassing. But this is the price poor students must pay.

Maximum the Hormone finally came out with a new CD and it's awesome, was listening to it while I was doodlin'.

Yeah, I was a naughty boy this month and didn't upload something every day. I'll try to be better! Since starting this blog I've certainly been better about drawing every day, which really is the goal. Just knowing people will come look at my stuff makes me work harder.

Thanks to everyone still coming here, especially my Russian friends! You guys frequently beat my number of viewers from the United States!

School is busy, and my eye hurts

So that's why there are no updates and stuff.

But here's what I've been working on for class!

We were supposed to put together a font and I'm not especially creative so I just used a marker and wrote letters, then used the pen tool in illustrator to get 'em in there.

And since I'm waaaaaayyyyyyyyyy too lazy to figure out how to make all of your image viewers view stuff good, here's a close up of "F" (because I'm most proud of how it turned out ;))

Oh yeah, I listened to a whole lot of Baroness while I drew this. I didn't find their new double album to be amazing, but if I were a country, this would be my national anthem. And for those who click my music links and are offended by all the yelling and screaming, this is instrumental. So yeah, there's no yelling and screaming unless it's coming out of your mouth because you also want this to be your national anthem and you're making up lyrics and yelling and screaming them. 

I may or may not have done this while drawing.
