It's been busy. I moved out and am sort of semi-homeless at the moment. I'm moving back into my parent's house, but there wasn't room to unpack all my stuff because everyone is at my parent's house for Easter, so I'm staying with some friends, but I don't have my scanner and so I'm not uploading anything.
And I don't use or endorse the use of drugs, but it was April 20th so I drew a marijuana leaf because I thought it was funny. Maybe that's not appropriate.
Too bad.
On Thursday (I think) I went to talk to a professor about some Fall 2014 scheduling conflicts, but I forgot it was comiccon here in Salt Lake City, so everyone was gone. Except for Perry Stewart (I can't find his website!!!). So I asked him instead. We ended up spending quite a bit of time discussing how I was developing as an artist and ways to improve. It was very helpful, some much-needed direction. I've had to examine my artistic habits and make plans to try some new things.
...But it's hard when I'm living semi-homelesssss.
Here's an update on the ol' frog prince. It's coming along, I'm going to try to finish it this afternoon. Scanning it in I realized that it's incredibly unbalanced and I need to add more weight to the right hand side to bring everything back into a state of artistic equilibrium.
This is important here because it's a character against a background with a shadow. It shows depth and stuff. Something I'm gonna keep working on. And yeah, it was April 20th, so there's the obligatory stupid drug reference.
Most of the time, all the people have similar bodies in similar poses with similar faces. It's weird and something else I wanna fix. I want to create new things, not draw the same guy over and over again.
