Last Post of 2014

Well, so much for 2014!

Here's a thing I was touching up from what feels like 100 years ago (LINK). I'd like to touch up the values a bit more, but I'd like to go waste some time before my wife gets home and we begin the new year's festivities [More wasting time? - Ed.].

Just some sketches from the last couple days. Maybe they'll grow into something more?

I'm outta hereeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee~!!~!~!!!!

Just A Poast

Looks like roast.
Today I went down to Sandy to do some voicework. These were just done on 8.5 x 11 paper on a clipboard I had, since I didn't have a sketchbook.
These are just sketches maybe I'd to take farther someday.

And now I go back to work.

Five Hundred

Sheesh.

I like to think I've grown in 500 posts and almost 2 years?
I'll save all the reminiscing for the 2nd Annual post on the 28th of January. In the meantime, you can see the first here, in preparation for the next.
Thanks for all the love (and hate?) over the last 500 posts.
Gotta figure out some background/environment stuff now.

I worked on this from a few days back...

Working in Progresss

So I sorta painted this guy today. Now I need to figure out how to draw a background in there.
Well, I'll get to that later. I need a bit o Dark Souls today! ;)

Finished a Sketchbook! (2 Months)

Yeah, I got married last month! That's why it took two months. It was too dern busy! As an aside, Kaitlin designed and made her own dress. If you're curious, you can take a look over at her blog: https://banglestobells.wordpress.com/2014/12/13/wedding-dress-fancies/.

But yes! I just pulled these from the sketchbook stuff I did today. I'm actually not going to buy another one yet! That way I have no choice but to spend my art time painting one of these older things and practice that. Darn it! But Kaitlin pointed out that if I have a sketchbook I'll use it as a crutch and not force myself to do hard things, like paint everything. Okay!
Since the semester is also over today, I'm going to try to take a break and play some Dark Souls, since they finally removed Games for Windows Live and fixed it. My plans are to go through from scratch and get all the achievements on Steam. That'll take awhile, though.
I'm outta heah!

Almost There...

"Another post?" you think.
I have to hit 500 by the end of the yearrrrr!!!
And I also have to finish my sketchbook tomorrow. Once I take care of those two things I'll go back through the last coupla weeks and pick some favorites to finish up and paint.
Onward with the stuff I drew today!

So there's like a tiger warrior guy and a couple other guys.

Some guys.

An alien doctor guy.

He has these two lever-action rifle things. Maybe they're shotguns. I don't know, but he'll wreck you

Shooting. This guy is cool cuz his legs/feet. I like how they turned out.

I decided to upload another stupid thing today. Lately I've been doing this thing where all the characters shoot lasers out of all eyes. So that's what's happening here. They're just blasting each other.

I was worried about the fly... Flies have compound eyes, so wouldn't it act like a prism and shoot lasers everywhere? I don't know.

Blowout: Cool edition

Except my friends and I use "Blowout" when we describe Ryan's dog Mac's explosive diarrhea.
ANYWAY.
It's been 4 days since my last update! Sorry! I've been busy drawing you things. A lot of it is stupid, and  I don't upload it! Although you're in for a treat today. I uploaded one of my stupid things, it's down on the bottom.
Finals are almost done. Like 50%! And the cops found our stolen car, too. It was full of evidence like a partially smoked cigarette, a crack pipe, and pieces of mail with names on them, but the cops seemed to care less about that. I was perturbed, but glad they found our car. Whoever stole it put it through the ringer- when I drove it back to my parent's house it felt like it had been taken through too many laps of Rainbow Road. I had something else to say, but can't rememberrrrrrrrrr
OH yeah, I was going to tell you lies about how I'll polish some of these and finish em. Ha! I will, though. Just you watch!

First up! Zombie decapitation. I think zombies are lame, but decapitations are cool.

Then some guys from the last 4 days. The top guy has a kusarigama, which is cool.

A goblin next to his inventory. Cool sword, cool knives. And I don't endorse recreational drug use of any sort, but I think that weed culture is kinda funny.

A guy with a sword. Sometimes I wonder if all the drapery gets in the way. A decorative loincloth thing? A scarf? Uncool. But that sword is cool. And the scarf is falling in kind of a cool way, too, impracticality aside.

A scary monster chef and a guy. So there's this album art by Roots Manuva I see on Pandora sometimes, and I thought it was him walking down the road with a guitar on his back. It turns out that it isn't! It's him jumping in the air. But the image on the left was inspired by that artwork. Here's a link to that song. It's cool, but it does have a bad word towards the end. Also, that chef hat? I was on the train and had no reference so it's kinda ugly. I was going to look online but I forgot. Whoops!

Just a guy excited for the new Unreal Tournament. We do long for gibs. Gibs are cool.

A guy doing a cool pose with his sword.

A guy drawing his sword because he has a cool backpack and you're about to take it. "Nuh-uh, I'll cut you open!"

This guy has cool fingers, cool abs, cool legs and feet. But smoking is not cool, so do not do it. It'll kill you!

This is a pen and ink drawing, which doesn't happen around here much anymore. That's cool.

This last one is ABSOLUTELY not cool. I don't know what's going on, but you can see why I don't upload everything I draw. A lot of it is nonsensical mind dump like this.

Just Touchin' It Up

Working on finishing things. I spent a few hours with this today. I think that I think too hard about aspects to painting that don't need me to think so hard about them.
Well, whatever. The more you do something, the better you get (hopefully). I was just painting this guy from yesterday:

Now All That's Left Are Finals

Finals are next week. Almost done with the semester!
Here's some things I did today.

That Hot Dawg guy I actually did a few days ago but I kept forgetting to scan him til today.

I think this paladin has some potential. I might try to finish it (I know, I know. I say that quite frequently)

Our Car Was Stolen Today.

What else can I say about my day?

Sorry I haven't polished or fine-tuned anything. It's been busy and today has been cranky. Kaitlin and I left around 9 and didn't get home til 4. I'm not sure the DMV or social security office is very effective, but at least Kaitlin's name has been changed! We're married! That was today's success.

BONUS: BONUS!: REDUX

Sheesh. First BONUS post in a while.
I had to post that image that I promised I would show you! I drew this the same day I drew that hover bike guy.

I also picked my wife up from work today, but I got there about 20 minutes early. I drew this little guy on a teeny notebook I had in the car.

BACK TO WORK

Yurr-An: INTERNET, etc.

I think Yur-An is a silly word.
Anyway, I just got the internet up, so here's a buncha stuff:

Just shooting a gat

A dinosaur creature brandishing a fearsome knife that probably won't fit into the sheath at his waist

This guy is a demon king! He has a crown of flames which I totally stole from Egyptian artwork like this. Hopefully that link works. It does, I just checked it.

Just an attempt at taking something a little bit further towards completion.

Some cranky people. The guy on the right holding the case with the warning sticker? That was inspired by my silhouette. I was standing at the train station holding all of my junk and I looked down at my shadow and it was really cool so I tried to remember it as best I could and recreate it when I sat down on the train.

A guy whose arms can attach, it's magnets or something. He'd be cool with knives cuz he could shoot his arms out and cut you. For some reason, I gave him pistols. Then there's a guy with a weird head and hand who's about to cut you open and some demon guy with a crazy sword.

Then some more stuff. Okay!

So yeah, that's all I have going on right now.
OH.
SHOOT.
I just remembered I still forgot to post that one guy I promised you I'd post a couple posts back. I'll have that up later today, I hope. I gotta go finish a final now, take care of finances and do the rest of the stupid stuff on my list.
Oh, and I don't know if I've shared this song with you before, but it came up on my old iPod. It's a fav from a fav band, and it's not even too scary. Gekkou, by MUCC. That chorus!
