Rockin' a fever :(: 3 -The End.

I'm tired of being sick.
Here's a picture.
But tomorrow, I'll probably have recovered and it's back to the ESPN sketchin'!

Rockin' a fever :(: 2 - Equally Miserable!

I would have worked on Don's assignment but I don't have the concentration to do such a thing. Learning art takes all mental faculties, and that's something I definitely don't possess at the moment. So just some scribbles. Turn my brain off and scribble. Shower, bed.

I was also going to reveal what that ghost-looking thing I posted recently was, but it's too late and I don't have time to finish it. I'll work on it tomorrow, go outside, get some fresh air, try not to freeze to death.

It's gonna be a long day today...

So I'll have to post some doodles. I'll be going straight up to Salt Lake City after work.

Also, what is this!? Any guesses? Stay tuned!

Thursday, September 26, 2013

Well... Uh...

You just have to be spatially aware of everything at once,or things end up weird and the eyes... Oh, the eyes.

I erased the line coming through his mouth and some other stuff, but the original sketch is too insane. Ha! Tomorrow we'll do better!

Fifteen minutes, truth and lies

Hey.
So things went well today. A professor mentioned yesterday that I should do 15 minute sketches of heads and hands from magazines. So, here we go, reference courtesy of ESPN:

What happened to his chin?!

It was bothering me, so I just got rid of some of those lines, just because I had to know what it looked like normally (turns out, not much better):

This was a good experience. I just wanted to upload these before I get back to work, but even from one fifteen minute sketch I was noticing things I would do differently the next time around in terms of what is important to focus on and mapping everything out.
Okay, bye.

IMMINENT CHANGE!

I'm going to be changing the content I upload for a while.
A teacher told me that I should work from magazines, drawing hands and head at 15 minutes each. Somebody mailed a sports magazine here a few weeks ago, and it's full of the stuff. So I'm going to be doing some of that. So be ready.

Here's some stuff to look at. I'm going to my concert soon.

Bloodbath

Ready for another week.
The crab is so cute :D

I go to see my second favorite band Between the Buried and Me on Tuesday. I'm so excited. My goodness. It's a good week.

Meh

Dude at the bottom looks like he's from Gatchaman or something

It's like a guy with a machine pistol.

There's something about firearms- the geometry of it all... A tool that projects chunks of metal at supersonic speeds in a straight line? All the components moving in efficient harmony, loading new rounds into the chamber as old casings are expelled?

Oh yeah, there is a problem here... The slide is pushed forwards despite the ejector port being open. I don't know a lot about guns, but I think that means that the slide is on backwards. Ha!

BONUS: Bus 9/19/2013

That guy with the glasses thinks he's so cool, the chameleon is wearing the coat, and the other guy is playing with his smart phone.
BEDTIME

Let us celebrate!

LUNCHTIME: But a post before I go

EDIT: I'm looking at it now and I'm not sure if anyone else is having issues seeing detail, but here's a couple extra images that might help:

People facing right.

Because so many times my characters are facing left!

Also, some Baroness... When they played this live, I nearly fainted.
Such a great song... Perfect song as we leave Summer for Fall.

Cut you up!

That axe guy's axe hand... It bothers me. I didn't fix it because I wanted to maintain the poopy quality of the sketch.

I normally hate anime (I feel like it's boring and lazy and why wouldn't I just read the original source material in graphic novel form?) but have made exceptions for a few things. This week I watched Neon Genesis Evangelion... It started out pretty strong, had a good sci-fi feel, interesting use of religious concepts and awesome robots (seriously awesome robots). But things started to fall apart midway through, culminating in one of the worst endings to anything I've ever seen. The last few episodes were immensely boring and unsatisfying. The conflicts that had been part of the plot for the entire series remained unresolved and the story shifted to pointless content about the state of the character's minds. I realize that the ending to the show has been done and re-done many times by the director, but that's frustrating for me as a user- How many tries do you get to end your story in a cohesive and intelligent way? I was very disappointed by the ending, but I loved everything else. My opinion of anime is sullied a bit further.
Have a nice Saturday.

It's raining.

I'm listening to Death.

BONUS: Bus 9/12/2013

I drew these yesterday, but I was too tired to post them when I got home. So I'll post them now! Expect to hear from me later in the day after I've had a chance to draw something.

It's National Batman Fan Day!

...Which is totally a lie, sorry.

Will people find my blog if it says "Batman" more times? I like Batman. I'm not much of a fan of the American super hero. I do like Batman, though. I like how his unstable mental condition provides a platform through which we can explore the humanity of a super hero and thus relate to him- We're human too! (I guess it's quite an assumption to say that... Forgive me, non-human readers!). I guess he doesn't have superpowers, but I don't really care. I don't care if he's rich or smart or clever or whatever. I do care that he's a total maniac. Batman is cool. Otherwise I'm more into graphic novels and storytelling and other garbage. I'm rambling now... This blurb was supposed to be full of the word "Batman", but I guess I got distracted... Oh, I also like Commissioner Gordon. He's flawed, too. I like all these messed up characters. Batman.

Can't win 'em all.

I found out today that I probably won't get into my class...
It was hard, but I'm okay now.
I just need a good night's sleep.

Charon takes the dead across the river Styx.
There's really nothing boatman-like about this picture, but it says "CHARON." and I won't argue with that!

I build it

Just looking at shapes and geometry.
Here's my first try:

Then I just did it tons of times trying to figure things out.

I ended up with some things that I like:

And here's another thing.
