BONUS: Easter and Some Cool Stuff

Last year, the UVU Illustration Club brought pictures to a children's hospital in the year. We have an opportunity to do the same again this year. It's typically an Easter-themed Spring thing. I like to think I've learned something since then... I won't post a link to what I did last year but it's out there and not too hard to find. And I don't want you to look for it. Ha!
Here's a look at what I'm working on for the kids:

Then some stuff I was noodling on tonight:

That bottom right robot has potential. I might try to turn it into something I could enter into the student show. Maybe I'll do an environment or something and throw him in front of it? Maybe I could actually finish something? Nah, of course not.

Some stuff, might be back later.

I'm working on some other things, I might post again tonight if I have time.

Trash/Garbage

Because it's a trash can!

I'm pretty sure I drew something else I thought was cool... Maybe I forgot to scan it? I was also drawing this lady's face but it's slow going, so I won't upload it yet.

Whoops!

I don't want to show you this, but honesty and artistic growth demand it!
The left and and the right eye look good on their own, but in the the picture as a whole, it's obvious I made an error! The eye on the left is too high. This is what happens when you start adding details too early. Fool!
I don't know where the reference I used came from. Probably a tumblr page again. I'll try to keep better track. If you can somehow recognize this woman and are the photographer and want credit, please tell me.

Then I drew a thing and some girl's shoe in my first class this morning. I like how the shoe turned out.
Mostly because it looks like a shoe, which is something hard for me.

I have no idea where I got the picture I used as reference for this woman. It may have been tumblr. If you took this picture and care and want me to cite you, let me know! I seriously had no memory of finding this picture. I just found it in my "People to draw" folder (which is actually called "rerrere", which I think means "Reference"). Her face turned out far too long.

My classroom at school this morning.

Some hallway where I was looking out the window. I didn't have time to finish because I ran to catch the bus.

I had much fonder feelings for this sketch when I drew it earlier today. Now it doesn't look so great. From The Sartorialist.

And tons of other stuff.

BONUS: Grunt work

Used some peeps on The Sartorialist as reference (Thank you!).
I also left in a cute doodle of a frog man getting blasted ;)

That guy on the end, I tried him again. I don't know what happened. It's prolly my pencil, got dull, don't work

Skydiving, Rocky Mountain Climbing

I'm more into metal than country, but what the heck

I'm tired. But excited.

Just had a good talk with an art buddy of mine. Gonna be trying some new things, or maybe just taking old things more seriously. I think it's easy to think you're working hard on things when you're really just busy doing nothing important.
Hmmm.

This next one I was practicing showing important stuff by using contrast, it's something we've been working on in one of my classes. It's rough and quick but I'm freaking tired

My New Year's Resolution?

I've been slacking! I did some drawing over the weekend but since it was my birthday yesterday (I turned 24), I've been busy. I'll try to be better. I have a project due in class today. It's stressful. Here's some stuff I drew this morning. You can see I had a hard time with the yellow pants guy's leg. I didn't know where I wanted it to go. Or how it was supposed to look, I guess.

Who is she?!

If any of you can identify this celebrity then you win the prize. This is for one of my classes. It's exceedingly hard! I'm stretching art muscles I didn't know I had. I'm not done with her yet, but here's how it's going so far:

I'd like her to maybe be slightly more identifiable before I call it quits here. Also, the hair next to left shoulder (her left) doesn't read as hair, but more like a growth on her neck. I'd like to fix that too.

Oh, artistic credit wise: I found the picture on a random tumblr, but I saved the picture to my desktop and don't know where it came from. Whoever took this, you're the best and I thank you for furthering my artistic understanding.

BONUS: UNICORN BROTHERS™

AN UPDATE.

HERE ARE THINGS I'VE DRAWN TODAY (SO FAR).
Caps lock deactivated!
I used http://www.pinterest.com/pin/575334921118085184/ as reference for this first one.

I spelled "Liege" wrong. How awkward.

Off to work

But before I go, here's some stuff I was working on today.

Pencils are stupid!
I spent a long time on this, even though it might not look it. It was hard. Value is hard. Tone is hard. Art is hard.

I do draw sometimes

This next one! I found a little square of cardboard and I drew a little creature and then threw some watercolor over it. It's kind of bland and I should have changed the saturation a bit. But I didn't!

FARg ouT

I meant "Frag out!" but I don't want to fix it.
I drew this in my first class today. The contrast is all wild because I drew it on my blue folder and I was lazy in how I drained out the color!

What's up!?

Here's stuff. And I totally forgot to do the stuff I did on the bus today! ARGH

BONUS: Today.

Hey, I'm back, just like I said I'd be. I want to get some reading in before bed, so I'm gonna make this quick. Oh, but a quick story.
So today in my ethics and values class we're talking philosophy and stuff and suddenly the girl next to me shoots out of her chair and starts squealing a bit. The people around also panic, stand up, and back away. I look over and there's a cockroach on her desk. It was a cute little thing; I always imagine most cockroaches to be like six inches long, so this was nothing. Everybody was panicking and the teacher wasn't really doing anything so I reached over and scooped it into my hand. The teacher folded up a paper and I scraped it into the makeshift envelope so it could be taken somewhere safe or something.
Anyway, here's today's stuff.

Ugh. Where have I been!? Here's yesterday.

It's been busy... I've been working on an art project for class. I won't upload it, probably. It's not so great. I did draw over the weekend, and yesterday. I've just been busy or tired or getting home too late to upload. If I feel awake enough when I get home in a couple hours I'll upload today's stuff.

Lettuce

Just sketching in pencil. I started inking in some lines but hated it. I don't know how to make it work! The final lines are never as nice as the sketch.
