No color today, but maybe soon?

Yeah, I don't have anything colorful. BUT! I'm learning some watercolor stuff in my watercolor class and have an assignment due on Wednesday. When I bust out the paints maybe I'll go over some stuff and try to add some pizzazz?

Anyway, it was club rush yesterday and today so I went and hung out with friends at the UVU Illustration Club booth. It was a lot of fun and we saw a buncha new faces at the club meeting tonight. Hopefully that continues. I drew these people who were sitting around us:

Then there's some other stuff. I had something else but it didn't turn out very well. I was at school from 8 A.M. today until about 9 P.M. without any food. So I was working on another piece of art but I fell asleep because I was tired and hungry. So you just get these instead:

I failed to actually upload the sharks yesterday! Ha! My internet is chuggin' along here, and I have to read 20 pages for my ethics and values class tomorrow, so I probably won't upload anything I did today.

This one? I finally filled a page with bus stuff. None of my models moved the whole ride home! So well behaved. 

Will told me it would make me stronger to plan to get whole characters on a page, rather than just a part (which you probably realize happens all the time, if you stop around here semi-regularly). So I'm gonna try. That was an unnecessarily long parenthetical phrase, I think.

For some reason I was immensely proud I had done this next one left handed... Reminds me of this robot from the other day:

There's a rotten egg by the bus stop where I stand all the time. I've been watching with interest. It's been frozen for the last couple weeks, but today when I prodded it with my toe it ejected a chunky greenish yellow mixture onto my shoe. It was unpleasant.

From Yesterday (1/11/14):

Why didn't I post these yesterday? It was mostly because I'm lazy. I will probably post something else tonight. 

Here's the first half of an assignment in one of my classes... We put two eggs together in a box and drawr em. This was pencil. I've been getting better at slowing down when drawing with pen, but pencil is still a chore. I don't really use pencil. I don't really like it all, really. There are too many to choose from, with different effects. It's confusing. Tonal theory has the potential to be completely rad, but in the meantime I don't know how I feel about it. Meaning I wish I knew everything and had no issues drawing stuff. LOL

There's the first week.

I'm so happy for this semester. It's gonna be the best. A doozy, but a goody.

Bought art supplies today.

I bought some sketchbooks and folders to organize the loose leaf stuff I've got flyin' all over my desk. Argh.

In class today Will told us to design a character and gave us twenty minutes. I added some color and this is the result:

And then some dude I was drawing. He kept moving and I was too scared to just grab it, so it's kinda funky. You can see I tried to correct some perspective along the bottom.

Okay. Bed. How do I keep getting to bed past my bedtime?!

2nd Day, and away we go

I'm tired. I get home from work and I'm just exhausted. I'm too tired to tinker with the sketches I did that were on toned paper (thanks, Stewart!) so I'm just gonna upload what I have. At this point I've been to all the new classes this semester and there's so much drawing and sketching I'm really excited, just sleepy.

And here's what I did on the toned paper Stewart gave me. I left the gray in the character for this one, but Just blasted the levels all over the place on the second one so I could get the lines and I know you probably don't care (I sure don't) but I'm tired and rambling. Okay, bedtime.

It was good. I will have a lot of sketching to do, and I haven't even had tomorrow's classes yet! I wanted to do more but it's late and I have to get up early and I'm really tired so I'm just gonna upload and be off to bed. School starts tomorrow, I'm excited. New classes! Hopefully I come outta this as a better artist.

Sundays seem to be good days for me... I just feel good while I draw and it usually just flows.

Well... I got home last night and did some drawing but didn't feel like uploading or turning on the scanner and stuff. So here's last nights stuff, some I'm not so proud of:

And then I did some today, much of it refuse. I must say that I'm glad to be going back to school on Monday. School is nice because the teachers force development in ways it's hard to push on your own.
