Today Jake Parker came to my class to lecture. I'd never met him before, but I've seen his stuff. He's a really cool guy. When I think about what it must be like to be an artist I think I was imagining Jake Parker. Thanks to Will for bringing him in to class. He gave me a bookmark. His lecture was awesome. I attached the notes I took to the bottom of the post for you to peruse. But first, what I drew during class:
I'd really like to go back with this idea and... Well, you know,
Finish it. Do a finished composition and color it so it looks like it's properly lit and doesn't look like monkey vomit.
I censored this one because it seemed needlessly graphic today.
These guys are so cool! That's what they're thinking.
These are the notes I took on Jake's lecture. Since he told us all sorts of new secrets I blocked most of it out because it sounded like he was about to publish it to the internet. I won't reveal too much of it here... You'll just have to follow him on tumblr and youtube and stuff to see. I think you'll agree, it's awesome advice.
I'm going to bed. It's too late and I have a long day tomorrow.
