Mushroom Jazz: Maladies, Misery!

Today has been a bit of a bummer.
Yesterday, I started to feel a little bit ill. By the end of my last class I was just weak and uncomfortable. Today, I woke up at 6, and I slept well, and I wasn't sure if I was going to skip my run, but I figured I'd wear my sweatshirt so I wouldn't catch another cold to stack on top of whatever I had (Does it work that way? - Ed.), and my run wasn't too bad.
I went to work and started feeling feverish. I finished my shift and went home to prepare for class.
I realized that I should probably bail so nobody else got sick and I've just been working on art ever since. I tried doing some painting earlier but it was just stiff and worthless. It was surprisingly warm outside, so I let the chickens out and sat in the grass and drew a little mushroom family living there, dripping snot into the yard.
Let me show you what the mushrooms taught me. I might try to take some of these to a more finished state.

A warrior from the North! He has a neck ruff thing to keep his giraffe neck warm and there are mushrooms down in the corner.

Here's some other stuff from the week that I've had laying around.

  1. I love the top guy's outfit, especially the shoulders.

    1. Thank you! His neck is long, and I'm aware, I just don't care, y'know?

  2. You gave one of your mushrooms wicked eyes! Why are mushrooms so cutie, I'd like to know? I love that you gave one of your characters a neck ruff. How Shakespearean of you. And I love the guys stance in the 7th picture down. I like movement! It's interesting. I'm so glad to see you've spent your time well while sniveling in your back yard with the chickens.

    1. Mushrooms don't have any angles or straight lines, they're very rounded and gentle. And I wanted it to be more of a scarf then a neck ruff, but it didn't work out that way. It's mostly there to hide the guy's long, thin neck. I was also quite pleased with the guy's stance. I also thought of you as I drew it, because I gave him nice leather shoes. Like, I got reference and everything.

  3. I think the mushroom should have beaten up the warrior!
