It's Father's Day here in the USA, shout out to my old man, best dad ever! But he's not here, he and my little sister took off to California for a week and a half. Lucky fiend
So, my goals weren't disastrous this week! I did some 3D.
That's all, failed everywhere else. Ha! But this week maybe I'll do some stuff from those books I swore I'd use.
Always improvement!
I didn't post this week's assignment from class because I'm really not proud of it. I'm a bit embarrassed by it, actually.
But here's some cool stuff:.
I was just practicing my foreshortening. I'm still rereading Eyeshield 21 and there's so much extreme perspective. I take a step back and look at it and I think, "I could do that!" So I'm trying to push myself more.
The blue and red guy holding the sword? His hand? I used reference! I was sitting in church (I was listening! I promise!) and I really needed a hand to make sure it looked right. I tried mine but would have had to break my arm to get it right. So I turned to my dear mother and bent her wrist all funky and drew that. So that's my mom's hand.
All that work and your painting gets a no-show?
ReplyDeleteI replied to this comment yesterday, but apparently it didn't post! Yeah, I wasn't thrilled with how my assignment turned out. It really needs some more fine tuning before I post it.
DeleteIt looks so great, Zach! Your color choices are fantastica. I love it when you're proud of your stuff. And Julie's hand has never looked better. But I especially love the guy giving the laaaaaaazy eyyyyyyye

At the bottom of the page.
It's how you shoot a gun right. You have to pop your eye out more!
DeleteYou drew my hand!!!!! See how much better everything is with my hand!?
ReplyDeleteUGH! Maybe I shouldn't do that anymore. Ha!
DeleteWow. It's great to see you're still going at it. This is my first time looking at your blog in months, and you've improved so much. I can't wait to see how your style continues to evolve.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Daniel. Hopefully it evolves into something positive!
